Good morrow, fair followers. Have you heard this rhyme that allocates personality traits to the day of the week on which you are born?
Monday's child is fair of face
Tuesday's child is full of grace
Wednesday's child is full of woe
Thursday's child has far to go
Friday's child is loving and giving
Saturday's child works hard for a living
But the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blythe, good and gay.
Sounds reasonable, right? Like horoscopes. Totally rational. I first heard this poem when I was about 5 (pre-rationalism) and in my heart of hearts, I always wanted to be either Monday (because first and foremost, girls should be pretty, amirite world?) or Sunday - Sunday kids seemed to hit the jackpot. And of course both my siblings were born on Sunday.
I'm a Thursday girl, which always seemed ambiguous - am I travelling physically? Or metaphorically? Either way, will I ever get there?
In good news for all Thursday girls (and guys) though, we do not have far to go for the next Consorts gig!
After a banging private gig a few weeks ago down south, we are back in Sydney, warmed up and ready to rock The Vanguard in Newtown! We are very much looking forward to supporting the gorgeous (must be born on a Monday) and talented (wait, is there even a day for this?) Viktoria Bolonina, of 2013 The Voice fame, who is launching her new single.
The Vanguard is a beautiful venue, and very civilised with a meal & show package available, so book a table and come hang out with us for a relaxed Sunday evening.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
